4 Easy Steps To Start a Conversation With a Women

Posted on 14 February 2011

Starting a conversation with a woman that you are interested can be a tough experience, especially if you are not comfortable making the initial approach with a new woman. This article will walk you through the steps of starting that first conversation.

1. Eye Contact
The first step of the conversation actually has nothing to do with words, because eye contact needs to be made to see if she is interested. Look over at her and hold your gaze a little longer than normal. Watch to see if she glances over and try to catch her eye for a brief second. Donít hold the gaze too long, because you might scare her away if she thinks that you are staring her down.

2. Observe The Situation
Look around the room to find something to talk about. You want something that is light conversation, that may not necessarily be obvious to mention. Approach her with a question or a comment, but donít come on too strong.

3. Ask Her Name
After a few moments of situational conversation, introduce your name and ask her name. Once names have been exchanged the conversation will become much easier. Stay away from hot conversation topics, such as politics, religion, etc. Keep the conversation very positive and casual.

4. Keep It Short
Once the conversation has started, many guys want to stay and chat for awhile. But, you want to keep her interested instead of boring her with endless talking. Keep the conversation going long enough to say hi, get some information, and show her that you have something in common. When the conversation starts to peak, end it and keep her wanting more.

At this point you will want to be a gentleman and let her know that you really enjoyed the conversation, but you need to get back to your friends/work/home/etc. Be sincere and let her know that you really enjoyed the conversation. And then establish a way that you can contact her again.

If you manage the conversation just right, she will continue thinking about you even after the conversation is over. Make sure that you got her phone number, and then give it a day or two for her to think about things before making the call to ask her out.

Once the initial contact has been made, it becomes much easier to let the relationship progress from there. Remember, that by giving you her phone number she showed her interest, so go ahead and ask her out on that first date to see how things go!
